New Jersey Cannabis Club at the Forefront of Change: A Reflection on the "ELLA" Eres Lider Latina Admirable Conference

As we celebrated International Women's Day and Women's History Month this spring, the New Jersey Cannabis Club (NJCC) played a pivotal role in an event that set new benchmarks for empowerment and innovation. Margarita Duran, our distinguished owner, CEO, and Director of Cannabis Business at the Hudson County Latin American Chamber of Commerce (HCLACC), participated in the groundbreaking "ELLA" Eres Leader Latina Admirable Conference. Under the visionary guidance of HCLACC's President, Heidi Castrillon, and her dedicated team, the conference emerged as a symbol of resilience, empowerment, and forward-thinking.

Held at the scenic Chart House in Weehawken, New Jersey, the conference featured two insightful panels that addressed crucial contemporary issues: mental health and the cannabis industry's evolving landscape. Leading the panel on "Seizing Opportunities in the Cannabis Industry," Margarita Duran brought to the table her extensive expertise and insight. The discussion, enriched by contributions from notable industry figures like Caroline Colone, Sam Delgado, and Rosemarie Moyeno Matos, explored the complexities and opportunities within New Jersey's cannabis sector following its legalization in 2021.

Margarita's dual role as the CEO of NJCC and Director of Cannabis Business at HCLACC underscores our commitment to guiding and shaping the cannabis industry's future. Her leadership in the panel highlighted the essential need for education, legal compliance, and seizing the opportunities presented by the cannabis industry—a sector that is not just burgeoning but is here to stay and thrive in New Jersey.

The ELLA Conference stood out for its emphasis on Latin empowerment, offering a unique platform for networking, learning, and collective growth. It was a day filled with stories of success and resilience, driven by a shared goal of betterment. Through her contributions, Margarita Duran emphasized the cannabis industry's integral role in New Jersey's socio-economic fabric.

We are immensely thankful to President Heidi Castrillon, her team, and the entire HCLACC for organizing such an influential event. Their efforts in promoting knowledge, empowerment, and progress are truly commendable. NJCC is proud to have been part of these crucial conversations and looks forward to the journey ahead.

Reflecting on the ELLA Conference, we are inspired by the community's strength, the impact of women leaders, and the cannabis industry's potential. Here's to more transformative discussions, empowerment, and collectively forging a more inclusive and equitable future.
